The Kodai festival that held on the Kodai kanal was a successful flower show with displays of more than 3 lakh flowers varieties on the show between Sunday and Monday. There are many interesting and beautiful flower variety that includes renunculus from New Delhi, daffodils, French marigolds and roses, carnation, and andreanum. There are also beautiful displays of cut flowers of roses, marigold, heleconium and carnation that were arranged in vases.

Because of the efforts of horticulture department resulted in Panda bears that have been created by using coronation flowers that are cultivated at home as well as from Bangalore and Ooty.

The Kodai festival was inaugurated by the state electricity minister Natham R Viswanathan, and the flower show that continued for two days at the park also highlighted the cultural events that were inaugurated by tourism minister Gokula Indira.

According to various horticultural sources the public response at this flower show was unexpectedly overwhelming because this is the first time when number of visitors crossed over 20,000 in the history of the flower show organized in that town.

The reasons of good public response were due to improvement in the works that were being carried out in the park with more funds allocated in this sector.
