In some region of India there is a tropical climate that allows good growth of the flowers in India throughout the year. The remaining regions particularly the mountain north, present in unwelcoming winter climate for flowers in India. The florists and flowers shop in India faces great problems here in winter. Most of the cases the plants that bloom in the mountains in the summer are grown in the tropical areas during the winter, giving the color for the homes of many Indians through out the year.

As its name is Dhatura flowers in India are also known as the thorn-apple or Jimsonweed in other countries. The plant is of dark green with white and violet flowers can grow as high as 1 meter (3 ft.) tall.
