In the month of June and summer the species of flowers Hydrangeas have become increasingly popular in last few years. There are lots of varieties of this species that is available in all summer long. In the last month; we have seen the full glow of oak leaf hydrangeas right from big leaf hydrangeas with their larger-than-softball-size purple and pink flowers blooming in the season.

There are generally two types of these Hydrangea macrophyllas, mopheads and lacecaps.

The Mopheads are the flowers that appeared in rounded, large, compound flower heads. This kind of the hydrangeas is the one most of our grandmothers grew in the home the gardens, and this species of flowers is very sensitive to the pH of the soil, as it behaves like living litmus paper. If in slightly acidic soil no lime is added while growing it then this flower will appear in blue shade, and this blue can be more vibrant and dark if aluminum sulfate or iron is added to the soil.

The Lacecaps are slightly smaller flowers with the shape is flat form the top side that is surrounded by a ring of showy flowers and gave a display of a pinwheel effect and a good looking flower. Both the types of flowers are going to give an attractive and very stunning color in the summer garden.
